Tufts Medical Center has long been designated by the American Society of Metabolic and Bariatric Surgery as Bariatric Surgical Center of Excellence.MelroseWakewfield Hospital is currently undergoing the center of excellence qualification process. The level of care of weight loss surgery patients is outstanding at both hospitals. The quality of nursing care at MelroseWakefield Hospital previously achieved Magnet® recognition from the American Nurses Credentialling Center (ANCC). The decision of where a patient's surgery will take place will depend on the patient's insurance policy and/or personal preferences. We maximally respect anyone's wish about the preferred location of the surgery.
